In celebration of Dutch Heritage Month in Ontario The Netherlands Luncheon Club (NLC) invites it’s members and guests to welcome spring!
Wednesday May 24, 2017 at David Braley and Nancy Gordon Rock Garden, Royal Botanical Gardens in Hamilton.
Speaker: The Honourable Fred Eisenberger, Mayor of the City of Hamilton
Topic: The story of the Eisenberger family during WW II in the Netherlands and their subsequent emigration to Canada.
PROGRAM
Time: 10.00 a.m. David Braley and Nancy Gordon Rock Garden open to explore and wander the rejuvenated Rock Garden, featuring new paths with gentle grades making it more accessible to all guests.
11:30 a.m. Ballroom B open for registration and reception, cash bar.
12.05 a.m. Lunch Buffet.
Following the speech of the Mayor, there will be a short WWII presentation, including the story behind our member Jan de Haan’s August 31, 1941 Wilhelmina Cigarettes.
02.00 p.m. end of presentations
Until 5.00 p.m. Explore and enjoy RBG Gardens: Rock Garden, RBG Centre, Hendrie Park and more.
